Implementing Te Mana o te Wai across Te Tauihu required councils and iwi to work together on a shared approach to freshwater planning and future policy development.
The programme brought together Tasman District Council, Nelson City Council, Marlborough District Council, Te Tauihu iwi, and Ngāti Waewae to review regional planning instruments and consider how updated national freshwater direction would be reflected in planning frameworks across the region.
Our role included planning advice, policy development, facilitation, and engagement throughout the programme.

Outcome
The project brought together councils and iwi to support a coordinated approach to freshwater planning across Te Tauihu. Through facilitation, policy development, and engagement, the programme helped establish a common foundation for future planning work and implementation of Te Mana o te Wai.
