Strengthening cultural capability from the board table
Wikaira Consulting designed and facilitated a strategic wānanga for the Wikimedia Aotearoa New Zealand Board focused on strengthening the organisation's approach to Māori relationships, mātauranga Māori, and cultural capability.
The session supported board members to explore how Te Tiriti o Waitangi could be reflected in governance, organisational priorities, and future partnerships. The wānanga also considered opportunities to improve the representation and integrity of Māori knowledge and content across Wikimedia platforms while building capability within the organisation.

Outcomes

The session helped establish a shared understanding of priorities and opportunities to strengthen the organisation's approach to Te Tiriti and mātauranga Māori.
